TFTT represents This For That Tuesday.
What does TFTT even mean? Great question!
Essentially, every so often on a Tuesday,I’ll share how you can use THIS in place of THAT for better* results.
*better shall be interchangeably defined as safer, healthier, smarter, cleaner, easier, cheaper
So, This For That Tuesday (Day 1) is VINEGAR!
Perhaps I’m late to the Vinegar is Awesome party – but I’m happy to be here, and thanks for being my guest. 🙂
Not only is vinegar cheap, and found in every grocery store in America (as well as Wal-Mart/Target), it is a safe cleaning agent. Our world is filled with too many harsh chemicals, toxins, and overall health disruptors. Vinegar eliminates all of that and is great for kitchen counters, bathtubs, drains, endless possibilities really!
Here are a few of my uses for Vinegar:
- spray on countertops and wipe off with paper towels. great disinfectant
- clean your microwave (if you still have one – those things are bad news bears!) but 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 cup water (maybe a tsp of vanilla for scent) in a glass bowl microwaved on high. let it sit for a few minutes to cool, place wash cloth in bowl and wipe down tops/sides/glass spinner with ease
- mold and mildew in the shower? pour some vinegar on a wash cloth (not one that you bathe with) and wipe the walls/door/shower curtain. for extra power – add 1 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup blue dawn dish soap to a spray bottle. shake it up and spray in shower. let sit for 10 minutes and rinse. sparkling clean! (not sure why it’s always the blue dawn but I haven’t tried other colors, blue it is!)
- a 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar will unclog and deodorize kitchen and bathroom drains
Were you already on the “Vinegar is Awesome” guest list? If so – share how you use vinegar to clean, in the comments!
Hope you’ve enjoyed THIS for THAT and will rethink the chemicals you use to clean! A simple switch is all it takes! 🙂
